I grew up with a taste for sci-fi and fantasy but the beauty of nature (especially Winter and the other seasons) has always moved me.
Music inspires me to paint, especially "mindscape' music, such as prog rock, psychedelic music, classical, new age and medieval music.
Places from my childhood memories or places that I see in and around my neighborhood influence some of the landscapes in my paintings, as well.

Thank you. "Beautiful" is the best compliment an artist can receive. I'm very grateful.

Amazing work, I could get lost staring into your paintings.

Thank you. I want people to become lost in my paintings- at least for a little while, anyway.

You're welcome and thank you again for having me. As I mention in my profile, I'm essentially a surrealist but I also consider myself a traditional landscape painter as well.

Thank you! I like your British Isles photos. I wish I lived there. I live in Florida where it's too humid and the terrain is flat. Plus, there's no ruins.

James! Congratulations getting on Juxtapoz magazine :))!
Tolkyes Featured By Owner Jun 21, 2014  Professional Traditional Artist
Thanks. It was quite flattering. It was a while ago, though. I received some exposure but not much in the way of feedback. No sales. I still keep plugging away, though.

Still, it's good to have as much exposure as possible
